Tunerzine was founded in 2004 by Jason Siu and Donny Mak, and over the following seven years it grew into one of the automotive aftermarket’s leading outlets and home to some of the world’s most talented photographers. From 2004 to 2011, we covered builds and events worldwide, capturing car culture through the eyes of passionate enthusiasts rather than through a corporate lens.
Now, in 2026, Tunerzine returns with a clear mission: preserving and archiving the best builds and events of the tuner industry from 2004 on. A big focus of the site is republishing long lost shoots of builds that originally ran in print magazines or on websites that no longer exist. Many of the shoots in our archive have real history behind them, with features published across all the popular sport compact magazines of the era, including Modified Magazine, Super Street, Import Tuner, Turbo, Sport Compact Car, Honda Tuning, Eurotuner, HCI, and international publications like Banzai, autosalon, and more.
We’re here to preserve the history of car culture while also ushering in a new era of feature cars and event coverage, in a landscape dominated by AI, social media, and content creators. We’re old school over here, and we still believe a picture is worth a thousand words, though we’ll share some words of our own along the way.
We’re also happy to host the Tunerzine Garage, where anyone can share their builds, both new and old, with the world. You’ll find product reviews here too, where our decades of experience in this industry can help you figure out what’s actually worth buying for your build. And we’re keeping the site ad free, so you can enjoy everything about car culture without the spam.
