Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ- Who are you and what do you do?

ASapp- I am Andy Sapp. I am a drift racer.

TZ-What is drift racing?

Interview with Andy Sapp

ASapp- Drift racing is wrecking into shit and setting things on fire. And getting all the ladies.

TZ-Who is Mike Jones?

Asapp- Mike Jones, who? He owes me $50 from Formula D Houston.

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-Yea, he owes Jason Siu a ton of money to. Forget him. Let’s get serious now. What are your plans for the 2006 season and the BMW?

Asapp-I want to build it into a real race car. Not this half (butt JR) kind of a race car and street car but a real race car.

TZ-Kinda like Speed Racer?

Interview with Andy Sapp

Asapp- Yes.

TZ-Who is going to be your Trixie?

Asapp- All the tricks (bad word by Andy JR)

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-So I heard a rumor, that somebody else might be driving your BMW in the 2006 Formula D season, what do you have to say about this?

Asapp-I have heard that rumor to. His name Ivan Drago, he is an anarchist from Anarchy 99.

TZ-Well my sources informed me, that in fact, the jordanteige.com sponsored teddy bear would be driving in your position (a photo of him can be found below)?

Interview with Andy Sapp

Asapp- That bear can get crazy f’n angle.

TZ-On a more serious matter, where would like to see drifting move to in this next season and in the near future?

Asapp-I’d like to see a feeder serious of some sort. A realistic serious, something that isn’t going to keep people down. I definitely saw a ton of people who were disappointed they couldn’t do well in qualifying. The feeder serious would be good for morale and things for people trying to get out and do it. It sets a more realistic goal than hopping out and trying to beat Rhys Millen.

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-Are you hoping for some good sponsorship for the New Year? You have a pretty good name in the business now. Everybody knows that one guy who drifts a BMW, drinks Rockstar, and has blonde hair?

Asapp- Yea I mean it’s the only European car out there. With a little more work I can have this car really competitive. But I can only do much on my independent budget. I have an extensive marketing and advertising background and I think I really know how to push people’s product.

TZ-You mean, Andysapp.com, that there is more to life than drift racing and drinking Rockstar? What do you do in your spare time?

Interview with Andy Sapp

Asapp- Drift race more, drink more Rockstar. I build websites but I don’t really sleep.

TZ-What hobbies do you have outside of drifting?

Asapp- Lighting stuff on fire. And graphic design.

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-Do you know the man, the myth, the legend that is Jason Siu!?

Asapp- Yes, he is major sexy for Russian delight. His computer is alive because he cut himself and bled on it.

TZ-Interesting, uhhh new subject. Who is your favorite model in the import world?

Interview with Andy Sapp

Asapp-Uhhhh, I don’t know. I don’t really know any of those chicks’ names. But they all seem to know my name.

TZ-Do you incorporate skills and magic into your drifting?

Asapp- Always. It is my most practiced technique aside from clutch kicks and weight transfer. It enables me to maximize my drift speed to proper speed, angle and pelicans.

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-Have you heard that a bar of soap between the bed sheets will prevent cramps?

Asapp-No but that makes sense. That is why those Irish Spring guys are always so frolicky.

TZ-Have you ever seen Sylvester Stalone’s porn film?

Interview with Andy Sapp

Asapp-What was that called? Cocky 4?

TZ-No Andy. It was called Party at Kitty and Stud’s. What would you name your pet penguin?

Asapp- So many rad names to chose from. Probably death. D E T H.

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-Oh right on. Do you know the difference between a crocodile and an alligator?

Asapp- Uhhh. People don’t make purses out of crocodiles.

TZ-In theory, if you were running in a forest, which animal would you be more inclined to run away faster from. A koala bear or an aardvark?

Interview with Andy Sapp

Asapp- An aardvelican.

TZ-Who is the aardvelican?

Asapp- He is a fabled creature who came from the late 1980’s in Nebraska. It primarily eats Swedish fish and chocolate covered ants. They smell like cinnamon.

Interview with Andy Sapp

TZ-Well Andy, to get you this interview I had to promise the bosses we would make this interview 21 questions. So #22 is here for your worthless plugs and promotions.

Asapp- First and foremost I would have to thank my family. Cause they are the best. Dunlop Tires for taking a chance on some no name kid drifting a BMW. Batlground Engineering out of Atlanta for helping me build the car. Grease Munkey Drift and Speed for late night wrenching session. The whole driftmekanics crew for being the most kick (butt JR) drift maniacs in the south. One3 Creative for being the most kick (butt JR) place to work (I told Andy to stop cussing already JR) and giving me the chance to go out and slide or die. And to you sir for rocking and rolling across the nation giving the United States a big black eye.
