Meguiar’s will have a booth in the paddock at the Formula DRIFT Shoreline Showdown on October 23 and 24 at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, with staff on hand for car care questions and its current product range on display. The centerpiece of the booth is a G80 BMW M3 built by Umair Zubair of Riamu Design, following the brand’s Sonderwerks Porsche display at Luftgekühlt 12 earlier this month.
Zubair has built SEMA project cars for 25 years, starting with a 1984 Volkswagen GTI and including a 1997 Integra GS-R, a B5 Audi S4, a Subaru Legacy GT wagon, and two Teslas, and the M3 continues that run. Finding the right donor took almost two years and a trip to Jacksonville, Florida, where he located a G80 in Tanzanite Blue with the carbon bucket seats in Silverstone. The livery was designed by Zubair’s brother and wrapped over a DTM Fiberwerkz GTR hood, a Shepherd Design carbon splitter, side skirts, and rear spoiler, and a Vorsteiner grille. The car sits on 20×10-inch front and 20×11-inch rear HRE Classic 305 wheels with Toyo Proxes Sport 2 tires, with ride height handled by Universal Air Solution Series struts and bags, two polished VIAIR 444 compressors in a custom trunk enclosure, and Air Lift Performance ALP4 management.
The S58 runs a FemtoEVO ECU unlock with a JordanTuned E85 calibration for 710 hp, supported by a billet CSF charge air cooler, BlackBoost cold-air intakes, and a valved Eisenmann exhaust. Inside, a StudioRSR Tesseract roll bar in Riviera Blue replaces the rear seats and anchors a set of Racetech Pro harnesses, and the steering wheel is a Sparco L360 on a JQ Werks hub with an integrated OLED display. The car will be in the paddock at the Meguiar’s booth throughout the weekend.
