Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome Debuts, No US Plans Yet

Hyundai has revealed the Elantra N Monochrome, an edition of the Elantra N that applies a single-tone treatment to selected exterior and interior parts under a design concept Hyundai calls “Understated Yet Undeniable.” The model launches first in Korea, where it goes on sale in late October, followed by Canada and Australia, with other markets planned later and no mention of the U.S. in the announcement. Joon Park, head of Hyundai’s N Management Group, said the edition responds to customer requests for a toned-down version of the high-performance sedan, with the design work focused on form, texture, and material rather than visual emphasis.

The exterior changes cover body-color details, newly designed forged wheels, and revised front and rear bumpers, side sills, brake calipers, and rear diffuser, along with a carbon fiber rear spoiler and carbon fiber mirrors. Inside, the Monochrome gets an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel exclusive to the edition, with its buttons finished in black, and Alcantara on other selected interior surfaces. Two colors are offered subject to market availability, Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue, and the edition comes in two trims: a Basic Trim with the black-themed design and Alcantara interior, and an Upper Trim that adds the carbon fiber rear spoiler and mirrors.

Hyundai says the monochromatic approach is meant to draw attention to the car’s proportions and performance details and to reference the Elantra N’s development history and its link to Hyundai N’s motorsport programs. The announcement includes no powertrain changes, and availability, specifications, pricing, and production volumes will vary by market, with details to come through local sales channels.
