Porsche has detailed a broad set of updates for the 2027 Taycan, headlined by a new E-Shift option that adds virtual gear changes, a revised Electric Sport Sound and a virtual rev counter across the lineup. E-Shift is optional on every Taycan powertrain and body style and comes standard on the Taycan Turbo GT. In manual mode, drivers shift through eight simulated gears using paddles on the GT Sport steering wheel, with gear-specific drag torque that mimics engine braking and a virtual rev limiter, while an automatic mode is also offered. The Electric Sport Sound changes with load and wheel speed, and the system can be switched off entirely through a mode switch on the steering wheel.
The model year also introduces Porsche’s new infotainment generation, running on a Porsche Communication Management system that the company says offers up to five times the computing power of the outgoing unit. The Porsche Digital Interaction concept adds a configurable widget layout, a rotatable 3D model of the car rendered in the owner’s paint color, and a Themes app for adjusting display colors and ambient lighting. An App Center brings first-party and third-party apps spanning streaming, navigation, parking and charging, while an AI-supported Voice Pilot handles natural-language requests, Google-based point-of-interest search and follow-up questions without repeating the wake phrase. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration has been expanded, navigation gains 3D building views and an updated Charging Planner, and the system now supports over-the-air updates. A redesigned smartphone tray adds a magnetic ring mount with up to 25 watts of wireless charging, which Porsche says is about 1.5 times faster than before.
On the battery side, the Taycan, Taycan 4 and Taycan 4S now come standard with the larger Performance Battery Plus, a 105 kWh pack with a peak charge rate of 320 kW on compatible 800-volt DC fast chargers, along with a new battery state-of-health display. Charging hardware changes as well: every Taycan except the Turbo GT with the Weissach Package gains a NACS DC fast-charging port on the passenger-side fender, while the driver-side fender retains a J1772 AC port. A CCS adapter is included.

For buyers of the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package, Porsche is offering an optional Manthey Kit that combines aerodynamic revisions, a new wheel and tire package, larger front brakes and revised suspension and powertrain tuning. A Taycan fitted with the kit recently lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:55.553. Porsche has published more on the kit and the lap on its newsroom site.
Porsche has also refreshed the Paint to Sample catalog with 16 new options for a total of 153, including the returning Shark Blue and Python Green and new shades Loretta Purple and Rose Red. The 2027 Taycan range is available to order now, with deliveries beginning in fall 2026. Pricing starts at $111,900 for the rear-wheel-drive Taycan, excluding a $2,350 delivery, processing and handling fee.
