Porsche Adds Manual 911 Carrera S MT Package for 2027

Porsche has brought the six-speed manual transmission back to the 911 Carrera S in North America with the new 911 Carrera S with MT Package, available in coupe and Cabriolet form and offered exclusively in this market. The Carrera S entered the 992.2 generation with only the eight-speed PDK, and the new package restores three pedals while adding an elevated standard equipment list built around analog driving with minimal added weight. Orders open through Porsche Centers today, with a starting MSRP of $167,100 for the coupe and $181,000 for the Cabriolet, excluding a $2,350 delivery, processing, and handling fee, and deliveries expected to begin by the end of 2026.

The MT Package is rear-wheel drive only and adds rear-axle steering, PASM Sport suspension that lowers ride height by 10 mm, the Sport Chrono Package, unique exhaust tuning, and a walnut shift handle as standard. Center lock wheels appear on a 911 Carrera S for the first time and save more than 17 pounds over the standard Carrera S wheels. Also standard are four-way Sport Seats Plus, titanium exhaust outlets with black trim, a SportDesign front fascia, and a red S model designation at the rear, a detail Porsche says came from a modification popular with North American enthusiasts. The 14-way Sport Seats, 18-way Sport Seats Plus, and folding lightweight carbon fiber bucket seats are available at extra cost.

Power comes from the 473-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six, and the coupe with MT Package carries a curb weight of 3,327 pounds, only 11 pounds more than the 911 Carrera T coupe. The standard brake system uses cast iron discs measuring 408 mm front and 380 mm rear with six-piston front and four-piston rear fixed calipers, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are optional, which Porsche notes is one way the new model separates itself from the Carrera T. Buyers can specify the full range of 911 personalization options, including 17 exterior paint colors, Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus subject to availability, and more than 70 leather interior configurations.

Optional exterior and interior packages sharpen the look further. The exterior package brings HD-Matrix Design headlights in black with a white color ring, wheels in Ceramica, a red S in the rear model designation, white PORSCHE rear lettering, body-color mirror lower housings, and puddle lights that project the six-speed shift pattern. The interior package adds Plaid Sport-Tex fabric seat centers with Chalk stripes, matching seat belts and stitching, Ceramica trim with black brushed aluminum accents, a white accent ring on the Sport Chrono clock face, and brushed black aluminum door sill guards. With the addition, Porsche now offers seven 911 variants in North America with a conventional manual transmission, spanning the Carrera T coupe and Cabriolet, the new Carrera S MT Package coupe and Cabriolet, and the GT3, GT3 with Touring Package, and GT3 S/C.
