Vasser Sullivan Lexus Entries Take Top 10s at VIR

Vasser Sullivan placed both of its Lexus RC F GT3 entries in the top 10 at Sunday’s Michelin GT Challenge at VIR, the only GT-only round on the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule. Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat provisionally finished seventh in GTD PRO with the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 at Virginia International Raceway, while Aaron Telitz and Benjamin Pedersen took ninth in GTD with the No. 12.

Hawksworth started 10th in GTD PRO and ran the opening two stints, climbing to fifth after an early pit stop moved the No. 14 up the order. He handed the car to Barnicoat on lap 50, with the No. 14 rejoining in eighth. Shortly after the exchange, the No. 77 Porsche made contact with the Lexus and forced Barnicoat off track, dropping him to ninth with grass collected on the grille. The No. 77 was issued a drive-through penalty for the incident, and Barnicoat recovered to eighth once the penalty was served before finishing seventh at the checkered flag.

In GTD, Telitz started sixth in the No. 12 and moved up to fifth before handing the car to Pedersen on lap 20 for the middle stint. Pedersen ran inside the top six until pitting on lap 49, when Telitz returned to the car for the closing stint and brought it home ninth. Lexus and Vasser Sullivan close out the sprint season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, September 20.
