The LEGO Group and Koenigsegg have revealed the LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar, a 1:8-scale model that becomes the sixth set in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series. Built from 4,104 pieces, the set recreates Koenigsegg’s Sadair’s Spear with a working Ghost Mode function, a functional nine-speed transmission and a V8 piston engine, and it launches in July.
To mark the launch, the two companies built a life-size, drivable version of the Sadair’s Spear and took it to the Goodwood estate. Constructed from 327,906 LEGO elements, the full-scale build weighs roughly 3,970 lb, about 880 lb of that in LEGO pieces, and took more than 9,400 hours to develop and assemble. It features a body made entirely of LEGO Technic elements, a working Ghost Mode and the signature Koenigsegg key. Driven in reverse up the Goodwood hill by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh, who set the hill climb record in the real Sadair’s Spear at the 2025 Festival of Speed, it reached 69 mph (111 km/h). The LEGO Group says that makes it the fastest drivable LEGO car it has built, and Goodwood has logged it as a new record category for LEGO car speeds.
Beyond the Ghost Mode, which raises the rear clam, rotates the dihedral synchro-helix doors and front hood and folds the mirrors, the set adds a unique Triplex front and rear suspension, a rotating gear indicator disc, working steering and a removable roof. The LEGO Group says the working Ghost Mode, nine-speed sequential gearbox and Triplex suspension are all firsts for the Ultimate Car Concept Series. The model measures 6 inches tall, 23 inches long and 11 inches wide, and is rated for builders 18 and up.
The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar (42232) is available through LEGO Insiders Early Access from July 1, 2026, and to everyone from July 4, priced at $449.99 (£399.99, €449.99) at LEGO.com/Koenigsegg and LEGO Stores. Shoppers who buy the set between July 1 and July 6 will also receive the 228-piece LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Steering Wheel (40894) as a gift with purchase, while supplies last.
