Hagerty has launched the RADwood Build Challenge, a YouTube series hosted by Jason Cammisa that follows three builders modifying cars from the 1980s and 1990s ahead of a live finale at RADwood NorCal on October 24 at Gold Bar Hangar in Alameda. The first episode is live on Hagerty’s YouTube channel, and attendees at the event will vote in person to decide the winning build.
The three entries are Mike Burroughs’ 1989 Lotus Esprit Turbo, Vin Anatra’s 1994 Chevrolet Silverado dually, and Larry Chen’s 1996 Honda Accord Si-R. The winning builder takes a $50,000 prize and directs a second $50,000 donation to one of three partner charities: Folds of Honor, which supports military families; the RPM Foundation, which funds restoration and preservation trade education; or McPherson College, which offers a bachelor’s degree in automotive restoration.
RADwood NorCal runs from 4 PM to 8 PM with free admission, and tickets can be reserved at RADwood.com.
