The two SIXPACK-powered Dodge Charger Scat Pack drift cars built with Hemmings will make their first California appearance at the GRIDLIFE Laguna Seca Festival, September 18 to September 20, at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, following their public debut at Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, on August 7. Professional drifters Corey Hosford and Micah Diaz will run the 750-hp cars in full-course drift exhibitions throughout the weekend, and the Dodge display will also offer Thrill Rides in 550-hp Charger Scat Pack models alongside the current Dodge lineup and product specialists.
The cars were developed through a collaboration between Hemmings director of programming Mike Musto and Suppy Wejpanich’s Suppy’s Garage, starting from production 2026 Charger Scat Packs powered by the 550-hp, 531 lb-ft twin-turbo 3.0-liter SIXPACK H.O. inline-six. The two-door Charger BOOST Coupe is built for competition and exhibition driving, while the four-door Charger RPM, short for Rapid People Mover, is set up for passenger ride-alongs. Both are quoted at 750 hp, a figure Dodge has described as a conservative estimate, with each car using a different forced-induction configuration and running on C16 race fuel.
Both builds also swap the factory all-wheel-drive, automatic-transmission layout for rear-wheel drive and a manual gearbox, with custom bellhousings and a modified driveline. Hemmings is documenting the project across its YouTube channel and social platforms, with the series now following the cars from event to event. After Laguna Seca, the next scheduled stop is FuelFest at Firebird Motorsports Park in Arizona on December 5.
