The Nissan 240sx has not always been the model tuner car. It wasn’t until drifting competitions started showing up stateside, that the cars started disappearing off of used car lots everywhere. And of course a Hollywood movie all about drifting didn’t hurt either. But in a world where 240s are a dime a dozen, how do you make your car different from the next guy’s? Well let’s take a closer look at this 240 to see what makes it unique.
The owner is a guy named Jon, who’s been tuning cars for some time now. His old Acura Integra was one of the better known tuner cars in his area. And Jon being who he is, isn’t the type of person who wants to get this 240 sideways. He wants it too look good cruising the local strip, as well as being able to show off some trophies at the car shows he goes to.
And one look at this 240 tells you there’s been quite a bit of work done to make it look different on the outside. The Nissan emblems have been replaced with Silvia emblems on the hood and front grill. It’s a nice touch that harkens to the Japanese counterpart for the American 240sx. The kit on this car is a complete Version Select kit from front, to side, to back.
So how does Jon roll? Well on SSR professional S1 wheels of course. And where the rubber meets the road, this “Silvia” rolls on 235/40 Falkins in the front and 255/35 Falkins in the rear. And to bring the car to a stop, we’ve got a set of Brembo Track Edition brake set found on the Nissan new 350Z. And if you’re going to ride, and look good doing it you better be sitting low. Jon chose Zeal Function XS coilovers to lower his 240’s ride. To help stiffening the drive around corners, this “Silvia” is sporting Kazama rear upper arms.
Now the interior is probably one of the places that’s seen the least amount of work. so far. A Bride Brix II racing seat keeps the driver firmly in control of this machine. The tunes are pumped out through Infinti speakers, with an Alpine headunit providing the controls. Oh and the shifting, we’ll this isn’t your typical shift knob. You’ll have to see it to believe it, so I’m going to stop here so you can enjoy the pictures. And of course, one thing I’ve learned about Jon is he’s always into something.
