In the import world, most people realize that there is a large amount of work needed to separate yourself from the crowd. No one is more aware of this, then the owner of this 1999 E36 M3. As a striving actor trying to make it big, Sean Heumann, understands that boldness, beauty, and brawn are characteristics that get one noticed and he implemented these qualities into his car. One trait, acting schools won’t teach you, however, is that bright yellow paint not only gets you noticed, but also has the unique ability to break necks of passing drivers.
Backing up the intense yellow paint is a MA Shaw PTG Style Wide Body Kit. As a weekend road racer, this kit allows Sean to sport 315 Michelin PS2’s in the back (275’s in the front), adding a significant amount of traction which is vital for fast lap times. Located inside of the rubber are powder-coated 18 in Fikse profile 10 wheels. Hawk race pads ensure he can stop on a dime when needed. The bimmer is dropped on a TC Kline TCKR Smart Design D/A Race Suspension, a system that is rather brutal for the street, but works wonders on the track. Stiffening the suspension further is an underbody X-brace.
With a racecar stance, one would expect this M3 to have racecar power. The 3.2 liter M3 Engine is certainly not lacking in the power department, but an assortment of Dinan parts helps this thing go even faster on the track. Air has no idea what it has gotten itself into as it is first, sucked through a Dinan carbon fiber intake, fed through a Dinan throttle body, and later shot out a UUC System U exhaust.
Speeds on the track can reach the triple digits and safety starts to become a primary concern. That is why this Bimmer’s interior is decked out with a plethora of safety precautions. The chassis is stiffened and made stronger by a Mike McMahon Custom Roll Cage. Even in a worst-case scenario crash, the roof should remain intact, protecting the goods on the inside. By goods, I of course mean, the Recaro SRD Racing seats and Sabelt Six Point Racing harnesses. These race buckets prevent Sean from sliding all over the place as he is hittin’ apexes at local circuits. With power, grace, and nimbleness it is easy to see why BMW’s serve as a great platform for racecars. So if you are on the road and see a glowing yellow M3 as wide as the street, take notice. It’s probably this M3 on its way to set a hot lap at your local track.
