Since we were wondering if Joey Redmond even existed anymore, we bugged the hell out of him and the cohorts at HCI Magazine for this EK feature. With its clean style and plenty of power underneath the hood, the EK not only received its fair share of the spotlight on the pages of HCI, we felt that it needed some reinforcement on tunerZine.com as well. If this is the first time you’ve caught glimpse of this car, make sure you go and grab an issue of HCI Magazine.
Underneath the hood of this white EK is an USDM spec B18C5 motor. Plenty of power has been produced from this high revv’ing beast thanks to JUN’s stage 3 camshafts. Ensuring that nothing goes awry in the head while entertaining the aggressive lift and duration of JUN’s cams, the head was revamped utilizing Omnipower’s valve springs and retainers. Adjusting the aggressive cams are Titan Motorsports’ B-series cam gears. Flowing air in and out of the motor setup is an ARC induction system, AN-R header and 5Zigen Fireball exhaust system. Providing additional fuel for the Chrome Engine tune, Prelude 280cc injectors and a Walbro 255 fuel pump was tossed in.
Carving corners while ripping up the rpms has been made even more fun with A’PEXi’s N1 full damper coilover system. Tightening up the chassis is a set of Spoon Sports front and rear strut bars. Further reinforcing the suspension setup is a Comptech rear lower tie bar and Omnipower’s lower control arms. This EK seemed bland with its 4-lug setup, so a 5-lug setup was ported on along with Brembo rotors and Carbotech’s brake pads. Bolted onto each of the Skunk2 extended studs are 15-inch Work RSZ-R wheels re-done in a full white finish.

The exterior of the car has been kept tame, with mostly a JDM Civic Type-R conversion in effect. Accenting the front end is a VIS Spoon Sports style carbon fiber front lip, while the rear hatch has been replaced with a lighter and more fashionable Seibon carbon fiber piece.
This EK is truly what it’s all about – performance, style and the perfect daily driver. Will we ever get enough of these Hondas? I think not!
