Huntington Beach, Calif. – December 2007 – While North America eagerly awaits the launch of the Mercedes Benz CL, we find German Ultra Luxury tuner Carlsson finds themselves ahead of the line with a complete tuning program for both the CL.550, and CL.600.
Newly designed for 2007 the re-invented CL offers luxury sedan comfort in a coupe designed package. The new stance casts a silhouette that’s poised to launch forward. The bold look is accented with an aggressive front air dam, aerodynamically chiseled rear bumper, a classic front grille, and staggered-width 18″ 9-spoke alloy wheels.
Carlsson aerodynamic components are an expression of elegance and power. Although the lines of the standard CL and bold, Carlsson manages to strengthen the appearance. Sporty yet refined, Carlsson aerodynamic components effectively round off the appearance of the CL in a distinguished way. The front-spoiler and rear apron embody the Carlsson “Style Elegance” look and are finished with a stainless-steel grille insert that improves the flow of air to the radiators and establishes a younger sporty design.
Ultra Light, Sporty and Elegant are the best ways to describe Carlsson’s wheel designs. Carlsson has makes both the 3/11 and 1/16 to fit the CL Coupe. The 3/11 is a 3pc full forged 11 spoke wheel that accentuates the CL’s natural sport stance. The 3/11 is available in staggered 21 inch diameters. If a more elegant look is desired Carlsson also offers its 2/16 wheel in a staggered 20-inch diameter. The 16 spoke does an effective job of filling the face of the wheel but does not rob the CL of its natural look.
Developed specifically for the CL 600, the CK60 engine kit accelerates not only the driver’s pulse but also the coupe in to a speed of 100km/hr in a mere 4.4 seconds. Even more impressive are the raw numbers that the Carlsson treatment achieved. The tuned V12 develops 600 Horse Power (standard 517) coupled with a breathtaking 1024 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. Top speed is electronically regulated 320 km/h (due to the limitations of the tires.) The CK60 engine kit has more than enough power and torque in every conceivable situation.
