1994 – Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan gets whacked in the knee by her rival Tonya Harding, Aldrich Ames and his wife are arrested and subsequently tried and convicted for espionage, and Lorena Bobbit was found not guilty of trying to take away her husband’s manhood by reason of insanity; but not all is doom and gloom, Acura was churning out super cars for all of us to envy.

The New Sportscar eXperimental was introduced in 1991 when yours truly was 16 years old and just dreaming of driving a Honda Civic, that is, until I laid eyes on the new NSX. The NSX was a milestone for Honda, something that had never been seen before from a car company that had been more utility than exotic for most of its life. Honda’s past though; was checkered with Grand Prix wins and F1 success, and it was simply a matter of time before a car like this came along. Revered drivers like Ayrton Senna and Bobby Rahal helped to make its all aluminum monocoque chassis to become one of the greatest sports car of all time.

Most people would be content to simply own and drive one of these cars. But the owner of the pristine example before you here is not most people. Taking one of 20 Grand Prix White 1994 NSX’s built and completely modifying it might even be considered sacrilegious by some purists. But that’s exactly what you’re looking at. Converting his car to 2002 spec in meticulous detail was a daunting, and amazingly satisfying task.

Starting with a car like an NSX-R provides a different opportunity than starting with most other types of cars. When you already have a potent performer, you can go with more flash than dash. Using mostly OEM parts, the car before you has been converted to appear to be a 2002 model year car. Then, adding a few choice aftermarket pieces, the final product is simply stunning. ProcaR FC hood and rear spoiler add the simple contrast to the otherwise all white theme. An OEM NXR-R rear diffuser and HIDs were added for some added visual performance as well. A Kite garage radiator plate and NSX-R air duct, plus a replica engine cover, manifold plate and air box add a small amount of go for this beast. Advance Titanium Exhaust, TaiTec Straight Pipes DC Sports Style Headers, Spoon ECU, Ikeya Formula Sequential Shifter help get all the extra power out and to the ground.

Inside this car is all business, with a Momo Course Steering Wheel w/ Quick Disconnect and a POP Design NSX-R Gauge Dry CF Bezel, Recaro Pole Position Leather Seats with Sued Inserts, OEM Power Sliding Rails OEM Red Carpet OEM NSX-R Door Sill Plates OEM NSX-R Door Emblems, with an OEM shift boot, and S2K starting button finish off an otherwise stock interior and make spending time behind the wheel that much more enjoyable.

In car entertainment come in the form of simple and effective rather than overdone and tasteless. A JDM NAV Pod, Alpine CD Player and 12 Disc Changer,Kenwood DVD Player with 6″ Kenwood LCD Phoenix Gold provided the speakers and a JBL GT Amp proved the audio.

For wheels and tires Honda again was called to duty providing JDM 2001+ OEM wheels (Toyo R1 tires 255x40x17 rears 215x40x17 fronts) along with 2002+ upgraded brakes. Improving the suspension for a car that can already hang with some of the best in the world is not easy task, but HKS HyperMax II Coilover help keep this car planted at any speed. Do-Luck Sway Bars, and a Do-Luck Strut Bar help keep everything feeling planted and tight no matter how fast you want to drive.

It’s been well over 13 years since we’ve heard stories about Bobbit and Harding, but it always brings a smile to our face when we hear the words N-S-X.
