Falken & Friends Meet 2026: Familiar Faces at the Marconi

Originally published: Oct 18, 2026 Words & Photos by Jason Siu

If you’ve read the recent archive features on Nick Fousekis’s Toyota MR2 or HPI’s S15, you probably know how I feel about Falken. My relationship with the brand goes back to a warehouse visit in 2005, when the people at Falken went out of their way to help us with a photo shoot. They’ve been supportive of me pretty much ever since, so I wasn’t about to miss the Falken & Friends Meet at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin on Sunday, October 18.

For me, the meet was just as much about catching up with old friends as it was about seeing the cars. Nick Fousekis was there, just a few weeks after we published his MR2 feature, along with Joyce Lex and Calvin Wan, whose recent interview with us will be published tomorrow, October 19. It was also awesome seeing some of Falken’s historic competition drift cars, including the S15 Calvin drove in 2009, which had previously been Nobuteru Taniguchi’s HKS S15. We also caught up with @fk8.rex and spent some time with @lemmo86 and his car, which we photographed for an upcoming feature. Throughout the day, I heard from quite a few people who were happy to see Tunerzine back. It means a lot to hear that kind of support from people I’ve known for much of my career.

For those who couldn’t make it out to Tustin, the gallery below includes some of the cars that caught my attention, both inside the museum and out in the parking lot. It’s always nice to have an excuse to get out, see some familiar faces, and spend a Sunday around cars.
