Let’s face it. No matter how many times we see a nice, clean Honda we can’t help but stop and notice. Devin LeFevere got the chance to photograph this clean red EK in his neck of the woods to show off to everyone out there. Swapped with a JDM B16 motor and exterior modifications mimicking Japan’s Civic Type-R, some of you may be whining we’ve seen it all before, but the truth is you’ll still stop and look.
The front end on this EK was torn down from the fenders forward, as the owner swapped on a newer 99-00 front end. While changing out the headlights, a pair of Civic Type-R copies was bolted on. An OEM Civic Si front lip along with a front grille came along with the swap. Since the hood was being swapped anyways, the owner decided to bolt on a lightweight carbon fiber hood to contrast the full red of the body. Civic Type-R side mirrors, JDM thing side moldings and a Spoon Style rear spoiler just go hand in hand with the rest of the conversion, giving the EK chassis the clean look we all love to see. On all four corners are Mugen RnR replica wheels with a Si disc brake conversion behind each one.

Under the hood, the JDM B16 now breathes easier thanks to an AEM intake, RS*R header and 5 Zigen exhaust. The stock restrictive intake manifold was also tossed for a free flowing AEBS unit. Half of the Spoon Sports amenities catalog was tossed in to spice up the bay including a Spoon Sports radiator cap, radiator stay, Spoon Sports reservoir covers and their signature oil pan wrap. A Type-R strut bar was bolted on as a finishing touch.
In the interior, a Si gauge cluster was swapped in so the owner can pay attention to his RPMs. The stock shift boot and knob was tossed out for their Civic Type-R counterpart from Japan.
As the EK chassis nears a decade old, we can’t help but still admire its sleek lines and the ability to make it stand out in a crowd of modified cars. This EK has a catalog of simple modifications that keep it a nice clean ride for the streets.
