When Subaru first introduced the STi to American soil, enthusiasts across the nation was ecstatic. Finally a decently high horsepower vehicle from the factory with AWD performance – what more could we ask for? Well, for some people it was more aggressive styling while others wanted more power. This STi, captured by the one and only Luke Munnell, wanted a little more of everything; outside, inside and under the hood. The result is a STi that we’ve found to be one of the cleanest out there: not overdone, just the right amount of tasteful parts.
Under the hood, a turbo upgrade was priority with a Deadbolt Superzilla turbo filling the void. A series of exhaust and intake upgrades were then bolted on including a GT Spec exhaust manifold, catless up-pipe and a full 3-inch exhaust. On the cold side of things, an APS 725 front mount intercooler helps ensure all the forced air into the motor is nice and cool. Tuned to the noise of 400whp by Turbo XS, this STi has more than enough to romp the streets and tear up the track.

That wasn’t all the owner wanted however. Believing that the STi was fairly mild from the factory, he called upon the experts at Charge Speed to equip his STi with their ver.1 four piece body kit. A front lip, a pair of side skirts and a rear lip was first thrown on to accent the natural body lines of the car. Desiring some carbon fiber to offset the blue shade of the car, the owner then added a Buddy Club 2 carbon fiber splitter, Seibon carbon fiber hood, reverse hood scoop and trunk. If that wasn’t enough, a Carbon Creations STi replica wing was bolted onto the lightweight trunk replacement. Looking at the car from above, everything from the hood to the trunk had been replaced with a darker shade of carbon fiber, so the owner also had the roof painted a custom anthracite to help keep everything flowing.
On the interior, plenty of in car electronics were installed to help the car in the show arena. While the car sits on 18×8.5 Racing Hart CPF-Tuners to garner attention to the exterior, the interior is adorned with several monitors and a pair of Recaro blue suede seats. Sparco harnesses along with a Sparco harness bar keeps both driver and passenger buckled in tightly while a series of gauges keeps everything updated in live.
We can hardly argue with the route this car has taken, from the exterior styling to what’s under the hood – we just love it! It’s the complete package and really portrays the true daily driven enthusiast vehicle.
