Hotchkis Performance

As I did some study on who to feature next in our industry spotlight, I turned to Hotchkis Tuning in Southern California. Relatively new to the import tuner market, Hotchkis has been making hardcore suspension components for over a decade on domestic vehicles. Having met up with them at SEMA, I knew they were a great bunch of guys and knew what they were talking about in terms of springs and sway bars. Among other reasons, I knew I had to pay them a visit and check out their facility.

Not just all hype, Hotchkis was founded by racing and test driver John Hotchkis. He began by developing hardcore top of the line quality suspension components for domestic vehicles and trucks as well. This is their Hotchkis Performance line. In the past recent years, John Hotchkis and his enthusiastic driven team has gotten their hands on many different import vehicles and has also worked hand in hand with car manufacturers to develop their top of the line Hotchkis Tuning line. Improving not only handling but traction and control as well, every Hotchkis piece is slalom tested and undergoes rigorous processes before manufacturing. With race-driven members on their team, you can rest assure that each Hotchkis component is built to withstand being pushed to its limits on and off the track.

When I arrived at Hotchkis I was greeted by Scott Newell and Mark Rosetti. I’d like to thank both of them for taking time out of their busy days to show me around their facility and letting me shoot the cars. John Hotchkis himself was present as well and it was an absolute blast to speak to him about suspension and race components in general. His enthusiasm about our feature race Celica just gave a hint at how passionate Hotchkis is at motorsports. With manufacturing, testing and production taking place between two different facilities, Hotchkis is able to meet the demands of all three of their lines, including H Sport – their new European line. With on site heavy duty testing equipment, each coil spring and sway bar is ensured to be in spec to what was tested prior. State of the art manufacturing machinery makes sure that each piece is done to the mm and produced and delivered in a timely fashion to their distributors.
