Getting close to 200whp out of a Civic is still a daunting and impressive task these days. In my opinion there is still nothing better than the sound of VTEC engaging as the tach spins towards a 9000 rpm redline. This extremely clean EG has been repainted inside and out with a rebuilt B16A that drops 195.2hp and 123.7tq straight to the front wheels. Combine that with its little JDM goodies and TEIN suspension, this EG is successful in setting itself apart from the crowd and popping out as a feature for tunerZine.
The JDM B16A motor was sent off for a set of Golden Eagle sleeves and 12.5:1 84mm JE pistons paired with Eagle rods. Alaniz Competition took care of the headwork and valve train components to ensure this high revv’ing wonder stayed safe. Aggressive JUN Type 3 cams and cam gears is a good reason why this car produces so much power in the top end. The bolt-on units are all badged with different names: AEM cold air intake, Skunk2 intake manifold, Edelbrock throttle body, HeaderTech header and GReddy cat back.

The drive train combined to the power train consists of a JDM Y21 LSD equipped transmission with a Clutchnet 6 puck clutch and Clutch Masters aluminum flywheel. Additional fuel has been calculated into the formula with a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, RC440 injectors and an AEM fuel pressure regulator and rail. There are plenty of options to help tune these Hondas now, but this EG is equipped with none other than a Hondata S200 unit.
As mentioned before, this EG is equipped with a set of TEIN Super Street coilovers to handle its suspension components. The front brakes were donated from a GS-R with Brembo rotors and AEM pads.

The outside of the car was stripped and repainted a custom shade of paint as seen in the photos. Several exterior goodies from Japan, along with a Bodykits NW hood and duckbill finish off the rest of the exterior modifications. Finally, the EG sits pretty on 15×7 Enkei RPF1 wheels doused in a silver finish on all four corners.
Customizing the 92-95 Civic hatchback seems like it’ll never end – but so long as people keep bringing them out like this, we’ll keep on loving them.
