Tunerzine.com Announces Project Toyota Prius Hybrid

Story

To usher in a new era of hybrid tuning and customization, Tunerzine.com has teamed up with its partners in order to showcase what can be done to the ever-popular Toyota Prius.  The project will consist of tasteful, functional modifications that will not impact the daily drivability of the Toyota Prius.  Most importantly, it’s not a project with a long list of custom modifications, but rather products any Prius enthusiast can get their hands on.

Starting off the project is a render courtesy of Gurnade.  Tunerzine.com sat down with Josh Cloud and his team of talented designers to mix-and-match parts to determine what would look best on the project Prius without going overboard.  The result is something that everyone involved will be proud of.

With the popularity of hybrid customization in Japan, Tunerzine.com will turn to aero kit specialist, Aimgain to outfit the exterior of their Prius.  The four-piece kit will be imported to America which includes a replacement front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and roof spoiler.  The kit will be altered by anodizing the Lexus-inspired exhaust tips in a flat black to make it more subtle.  In addition to the four-piece body kit, Aimgain’s foglights and LEDs will also outfit the front end of the car.

Once the kit has been fitted on, it will receive a treatment in preparation for the matte white car wrap courtesy of Wraptivo. A division of Meguiar’s, Wraptivo specializes in custom car wraps to the general public.  Tunerzine.com felt that the matte white would be a nice complement in keeping the car simple and clean, without being too flashy.

Handling suspension duties is an off-the-shelf set of TEIN H-Tech springs.  TEIN’s H-Tech springs offer a 1.4-inch drop in the front and a 1.5-inch drop in the rear while running only slightly stiffer spring rates (compared to stock).  This offers the Prius slightly better handling without compromising the ride quality.  Most importantly, it gives the Prius the stance it needs on the set of 18×8-inch Work Wheels Meister S1 3-piece.  The wheels will feature an Xtreme Gold center and Work Wheels’ glossy bronze lips.  Black bolts will be used to contrast the already diverse finish on the wheels.  The lightweight Work Wheels will be wrapped with none other than Falken’s FK-452 luxury tire in a 215/40/18 size.

Minor accessories to the aesthetics of the vehicle will include window visors and replacement mirror covers with incorporated turn signals.  Stay tuned as the build gets under way over at www.tunerzine.com and www.speedmotiv.com.  And if you’ve ever had any interest in doing a car wrap, we’ll have all the details and information you’ll need to make the right decision for your project. Tunerzine.com would like to thank its following partners on this build: Wraptivo, Falken Tire, Work Wheels USA, Gurnade.
