It’s funny how many of us can be brought together just over the passion and love for cars. I personally met Paul Souder when I worked at Enjuku Racing, and he was one of the few guys that just knew anything and everything about the 240s, S-chassis and SRs.

He spent hours one day among others helping me get my S13 running. That day I was supposed to do a full shoot of his car for his personal use, but most of the time was spent trying to get the S13 to crank. When it finally fired up, a couple of my friends took the S13 out on its maiden voyage and I grabbed my tripod and camera and hopped into Paul’s S14. Even though he had a cracked manifold that day, Paul insisted on boosting the living shit out of the car and showing me just how fun an SR S14 was with a few mods. We pulled into the Lowes parking lot and just out of nowhere Paul drifted across the parking lot flinging me from side to side.

Needless to say that was one of my first tastes of fun. I snapped a few shots for Paul that night. The other pictures in this spread were from our departure of D Day 2 in Tampa and him doing something he loved doing, flying. That is his hand waving out while Jay tore it up that day in his S13.
This feature is a tribute to Paul Souder who passed away tragically in an accident. His S14 was one of the cleanest ones out there with a potent S14 SR20DET swap, suspension mods and 18" Volk Racing GT-Cs. He was born May 23rd, 1980 and passed away February 14th, 2005. Words can’t really express the things and his meaning to many of us, but I hope the photographs can remind us of his silly grin and laugh that is just simply irreplaceable.

To Paul Souder – fly higher than you’ve ever flown.
