Whoever thought that one day the word ‘cream’ would describe a car? We’ve got to admit that nowadays exterior color changes are rampant and are clearly one of the most deciding factors in differentiating your car from the one next to yours. In the world of Hondas and most specifically, Civic hatchbacks, setting yourself apart from the crowd has become increasingly difficult. And rightfully so, with the EG still being one of the leaders in sport compact tuning and customization.

CJ’s 1992 Honda Civic VX caught our eyes immediately with its creamy filled exterior. Creamy filled? Well, maybe that doesn’t sound right... but dream is definitely the best way to describe the exterior shade. Accenting its clean lines on the outside is a J Spec hood equipped with Moroso hood pins and Vision hood props. The standard lighting pieces have been swapped out by its JDM EG6 counterparts with new OEM corners, side markers and tail lights being bolted in. A Si-R one piece spoiler along with a VX rear diffuser and a Vision front lip are about the only added components to the exterior, preserving the classic lines of the EG. The stock headlights were tossed out for blackened replacements.

Under the hood of this EG, CJ gets moving with ease. A full wire tuck was done while installing the 1996 JDM Integra Type-R motor into the bay. Utilizing Hasport engine mounts and a JimFab rear mount, the B18C from Japan sat comfortably in its new USDM home. The transmission got a light overhaul with a lightened 11lb ACT street flywheel and ITR clutch. The bolt-ons were kept at a minimal, helping free up breathing space for the B18. For the in and out is an AEM cold air intake and a Mugen Twin Loop muffler fully equipped with 2.5-inch mandrel bent exhaust piping. In the middle of all that jazz is a JDM spec Integra Type-R 4-1 header, a piece most Honda aficionados commonly bolt on to maximize horsepower.

Continuing on with the JDM theme on the exterior, CJ converted his car to an additional lug, making it the ever popular 5 lug. Mounted on all four corners is 15x7.5-inch +42 offset Dunlop Edition CPR wheels in a white finish with a polished lip. Giving CJ the stance and performance he needs to convert his EG to a mundane driving machine to a handling monster is a set of Omni Power coilovers, swapping out the front and rear spring and strut combos. Adding onto the suspension goodness is a set of Integra Type-R lower control arms and strong bar, front and rear Carbing strut bars and a custom trunk bar. To say this EG is setup for tight handling is an understatement!

The interior of the EG has also been accented with plenty of goods from its JDM brethren. A JDM EG6 radio block off, climate control, visors and coin pocket has made its way inside. The stock 15 year old steering wheel and shift knob combination has been replaced with a wood grain wheel and 10th Anniversary Skunk2 shift knob to rejuvenate the cockpit. The Buddy Club seats wrap CJ in while a JDM ITR cluster was molded in to fit properly into the dash.
